Surge Control

Most centrifugal control solutions use a fixed, flat-line minimum amp set-point that is set artificially high in anticipation of worst case conditions. This practice is not only very wasteful but by design actually causes surging and anticipates that it was set incorrectly to begin with by indexing even higher after surging.

Surging interrupts your header pressure, causes damage and wear to your compressor and can cause catastrophic failure.

The reality is that minimum throttle is not minimum amps, it is minimum flow. Ever-changing atmospheric conditions and other factors require that a minimum throttle measured in terms of amps must be dynamic.

Our Dynamic Throttle Limit (DTL) algorithms work to find the greatest turndown in best of conditions and avoid surge in the worst of them.
